Lifecycle Building Center

Just up the street from my house is a company that resells used and leftover building materials. They aptly call it Lifecycle Building Center. I have taken a couple of their free Saturday afternoon DIY classes – one on home heating and air conditioning systems and another on building a birdhouse. You guess which class I preferred.

I like to shop at Lifecycle. I’ve bought bookshelves there, and lamps, and have picked up bathroom tiles and a really comfortable chair to use while sewing. They usually have a little of everything, but you have to sort through the chaff to find the wheat, so to speak.

chairs and stuff

I’m often short on money. Even more often short of extra space in my house to bring anything else home. In that case, I still love to visit Lifecycle – with my camera.

I believe the building was once a factory of some kind, or maybe an industrial warehouse. It’s a lovely old building, to my eyes.

      1. Its kind of you to suggest I had a small part to play in this! The painting of the girl is a special find! And I especially like the light effects/patterns, and also the equipment. Lovely!

      2. I love the girl! I’m so glad you like her, too. It was a surprise finding her there in what I believe may have been a restroom. I’m not sure. The glass windows, with sunlight streaming through, remind me of stained glass. In reality they are just very old and very dirty. It’s some kind of optical illusion, I think. I repeated a single photo of one of those windows in multiples, printed on fabric, and it made a very nice plaid.
